Biography

Keith Lovan, is a professional engineer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFCUG). He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.  As a native Kentuckian, he has spent most of his professional career practicing his profession in various parts of Kentucky with a brief stint in Tennessee and Montana. The first 20 years of his career he spent as a consultant for a mining engineering firm in Eastern Kentucky. Duties there included designing infrastructure for various coal companies and making sure that they were in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. For the past 22 years he has worked as a Municipal Engineer for the LFUCG. His current tasks include design and construction oversight, utility coordination, and property acquisition for the capital improvements projects in Lexington. His personal interests are traveling, biking and rehabbing old houses.
