Biography

Dr. James Landon has spent over 10 years working in the areas of electrochemical water treatment, carbon electrode synthesis and surface chemistry, electrochemical engineering, thermodynamics, and kinetics. He has acted as both an individual contributor and project team lead for numerous private, state, and federal projects, with a focus on the intersection of basic and applied research. Currently, Dr. Landon is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of PowerTech Water, Inc, a water treatment startup company located in Lexington, KY. Prior to transitioning to full-time at PowerTech Water, Inc., Dr. Landon was a Research Engineer at the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research, where he was PI or Co-PI on multiple state and federal research projects. He has >50 peer-reviewed publications and patents filed in the fields of electrocatalysis and electrochemical separations as well as a multitude of conference presentations. Dr. Landon received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University in 2006 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011.
